How can I make this boy like me?
I was selected to be a May Queen, because I am a beauty in my form. I’m going to be dressed in white muslin with a blue sash. Blue suits me, you know. I’m so fair. I’m going to have a crown and a train, and all the others will dance around me. All the boys are after me, but there is one boy, William, he goes out with Bettine Franklin and he is not after me. She is nothing special – small and dark. How can I make him like me instead of her? What should I do?
